Overview

  • In Shillong, she inaugurated the ₹100 crore Polo Commercial Complex, the state’s first modern mall under the Smart Cities Mission.
  • She unveiled 72 digital libraries across all 12 districts to expand community access to e-learning, online courses and government services.
  • Foundation stones were laid for over ₹1,500 crore in SASCI-funded infrastructure, including the Umiam Lake redevelopment, a MICE hub and a 40,000-seat stadium.
  • She announced 92 villages along the India-Bangladesh border as “first villages of India” under Phase II of the Vibrant Village Programme with full saturation of basic amenities.
  • The visit concludes with on-ground assessments in Sohra and Laitkynsew, where she will meet women’s self-help groups, farmer producer organisations and visit the Ramakrishna Ashram School.
