Sitharaman Inaugurates AI Skilling Centre, Launches New Bank Branches and SASCI Projects in Nagaland

  • The Finance Minister opened the AI Centre of Excellence for Skilling at the Nagaland Tool Room & Training Centre in Dimapur to expand training in AI and advanced manufacturing.
  • She witnessed industry tie‑ups including an MoU between NIELIT Kohima and Tata Semiconductor Assembly & Test for ATMP-focused training and a Cyient–NTTC collaboration for AI‑driven manufacturing and 3D printing.
  • Nine bank branches were virtually inaugurated across four states—three each in Assam and Nagaland, two in Manipur, one in Arunachal—with eight SBI branches and one Nagaland Rural Bank outlet.
  • A Credit Outreach Programme disbursed Rs 28.02 crore to 350 accounts under schemes such as MUDRA, KCC, MSME, SHG, retail and agricultural loans, and a Nagaland Rural Bank mobile ATM van was flagged off.
  • Two SASCI projects were launched—a pre‑fab multipurpose hall in Phek and a guest house in Zunheboto—as the Centre and state reviewed progress citing Rs 3,577 crore for 340 projects and a sharp rise in state capital spending.
