• Sinners producers purchased a warehouse of unused period costumes from Marvel at cost, outfits originally prepared for the shelved MCU Blade reboot.
• Oscar-winning designer Ruth E. Carter’s Blade wardrobe was repurposed for many of Sinners’s background actors while main cast members received newly created costumes.
• Blade was removed from Disney’s 2025 release calendar after directors Bassam Tariq and Yann Demange exited and the 2023 writers’ strike stalled the project.
• Mahershala Ali has publicly declared he remains ready to portray Blade and urged Marvel to “call” him whenever the film moves forward.
