Single-Engine Plane Crashes in San Francisco Bay Area, Pilot Killed

The homebuilt Van’s RV-6 aircraft crashed near a busy intersection close to Buchanan Field airport in Concord.

Pilot of a single-engine Van’s RV-6 plane was killed when the aircraft crashed on a city street near Buchanan Field airport in Concord, San Francisco Bay Area.
No one else was onboard the plane, and no vehicles on the ground were involved.
The plane may have had significant trouble taking off, and had already performed a 'touch and go' before crashing.
The plane also struck a vehicle, the driver of which was taken to a hospital with minor injuries.
The Federal Aviation Administration and the National Transportation Safety Board are investigating the crash.
