Singapore Unveils Live Crowd Map as Thousands of Officers Prepare for National Day Parade

A live Crowd@MarinaBay map will help spectators steer clear of congested zones during tomorrow’s celebrations.

Overview

  • Ticket holders must enter through designated gates, arrive early and limit belongings to speed up security checks.
  • Selected roads and MRT station entrances near Marina Bay and the Padang will be closed to all but authorized, police and emergency vehicles from Aug. 9 to 10.
  • Close to 2,000 officers from the SPF, Police Coast Guard, Traffic Police, Gurkha Contingent and partner agencies will oversee crowd control at both venues.
  • Patrol boats with AIS tracking, searchlights and high-speed interception craft will monitor waterways while portable vehicle barriers guard parade perimeters.
  • Containers of 100ml or greater containing liquids, aerosols or gels will face extra checks, canned goods are prohibited and drone flights over the Padang event area are banned.
