Singapore Tops July Henley Passport Index as India and Saudi Arabia Surge

The biannual index uses IATA data to reveal how evolving visa regimes alongside diplomatic pacts reshuffle global mobility rankings.

Overview

  • Singapore retained first place with visa-free or visa-on-arrival access to 193 destinations while Japan and South Korea shared second with 190 destinations
  • India achieved the largest six-month advance, jumping eight spots to 77th and securing visa-free access to 59 countries
  • Saudi Arabia recorded the second-largest gain by adding four new destinations and rising four places to 54th with access to 91 countries
  • The U.K. fell to sixth (186 destinations) and the U.S. dropped to tenth (182), placing the U.S. on the brink of exiting the top ten
  • Afghanistan remained at the bottom in 99th place with its citizens able to enter only 25 destinations without a prior visa
