Overview

  • The URA’s Draft Master Plan 2025 exhibition opened on June 25 at The URA Centre and will tour the island until November 29.
  • The blueprint allocates at least 80,000 new public and private homes across more than ten areas including Dover-Medway, Newton, Paterson, Defu and the former Kranji racecourse.
  • Three integrated community hubs are slated for Sengkang, Woodlands North and Yio Chu Kang while a destination park will link Istana Park, Dhoby Ghaut Green and Orchard Road.
  • Under the decentralisation strategy, Bishan town centre will gain 200,000 sqm of office space along with a polyclinic, hawker centre and revamped bus interchange, with work starting within the current term of government.
  • The plan also charts long-term moves such as the relocation of Paya Lebar Air Base from 2030 to free about 800 ha for a new eastern town and expanded green corridors islandwide.
