Overview

  • The initiative adapts key features of Community Care Apartments to offer assisted-living services across entire neighbourhoods rather than in isolated blocks
  • Toa Payoh and select senior-dense towns will serve as initial pilot sites for the new Age Well Neighbourhoods
  • Additional Active Ageing Centres will be placed so that seniors can access social and exercise programmes within one kilometre of their homes
  • Dedicated care staff will coordinate expanded home-based services—from simple home repairs to assistance with daily living—and act as first responders
  • Public hospitals will establish community health posts staffed by nurses for follow-up care and basic consultations as authorities test and refine the model for nationwide roll-out
