Singapore Extends Deadline for 3G Network Retirement

Singtel and StarHub granted more time to transition remaining users to 4G and 5G networks, while M1 completes migration

Singtel and StarHub will start retiring 3G services in November 2024 instead of this month.
M1 has fully migrated its 3G customers and will end 3G services on August 1, 2024.
Less than 0.1% of Singapore's mobile users remain on 3G networks.
The retirement of 3G will free up spectrum capacity for advanced 5G services.
IMDA has banned the import and sale of 3G devices to prevent further market proliferation.
