Overview

  • Applications open in October for up to 800 GRIT and GRIT@Gov traineeships spanning private companies and public agencies.
  • Trainees receive S$1,800 to S$2,400 per month for three to six months, with 70% of the allowance funded by the government and 30% by hosts.
  • Eligibility covers Singapore citizens and permanent residents graduating in 2024 or 2025, including master’s and PhD graduates, those completing National Service in 2024–25, and those finishing studies in 2025 with certification issued in 2026.
  • Safeguards bar hosts with retrenchment plans for similar roles, trainees are not employees so CPF and benefits are not required, and early exit is allowed for valid reasons such as a full-time offer.
  • WSG and PSD named firms like Grab, Micron, OCBC, ST Engineering and Sea Limited as hosts, the public sector listed about 2,400 immediate vacancies on Careers@Gov, and officials said the scheme can scale with more funding if conditions worsen.
