Sindh Clears Two-Phase 600-Bed Larkana Hospital, Sets March 2026 Groundbreaking

The initiative advances PPP leadership’s push to expand tertiary care access in upper Sindh under strict oversight.

  • Chief Minister Syed Murad Ali Shah approved the design, scope and financial framework for a new tertiary facility in Larkana.
  • The six-storey complex with a basement will be built in two towers over two years, with the first tower due one year after the planned March 2026 groundbreaking.
  • Capacity is set at 596 beds presented as a 600-bed facility, with Phase I delivering 288 nursing, 92 emergency and 48 ICU beds, followed by 144 nursing and 24 ICU beds in Phase II.
  • Civil works are estimated at roughly Rs3.108 billion, covering the main building, additional civil items, non-scheduled works and external development.
  • Planned services include emergency care, outpatient departments, radiology, dialysis, laboratories, a blood bank, endoscopy, day surgery, eight operating theatres and specialised medical and surgical ICUs.
