Sindh Caps Prices for Dengue, Malaria and CBC Tests Through December 31

Officials say lower fees will spur early diagnoses to ease hospital strain.

Overview

  • The Sindh Healthcare Commission set temporary maximum fees effective October 21 to December 31, 2025, for key dengue, malaria and CBC diagnostics.
  • New caps fix ICT malaria at Rs600, dengue NS1 at Rs1,100, dengue IgM/combo at Rs1,500 and CBC with smear at Rs500.
  • Major providers including Aga Khan University Hospital, Dr. Essa Laboratory and Chughtai Laboratory said they will offer the tests at the capped rates.
  • Regulators ordered laboratories already charging at or below these levels to maintain them and instructed clinicians to confirm dengue or malaria before prescribing antimicrobials.
  • Authorities cite rising disease burden with 920 dengue cases reported this year in Sindh, including 276 this month, with Karachi the most affected district.
