Sinaloa Raids Seize Precursors and Labs as Attacks Kill State Police Officer

Officials say joint deployments continue across key municipalities to choke cartel logistics.

Overview

  • Federal and state forces reported coordinated operations on Sept. 26 across Culiacán, Navolato, Elota and Cosalá that secured weapons, vehicles, chemical precursors and a clandestine camp.
  • Authorities said they found more than 9,442 liters of chemicals in 14 storage areas and identified three inactive laboratories equipped for large‑scale synthetic drug production.
  • In rural Caminaguato, Culiacán, personnel recovered a hidden cache with a handgun, 17 magazines, 662 cartridges, three tactical vests, 10 ballistic plates and a ballistic helmet.
  • In Navolato’s Las Trancas, officers seized two AK‑47‑type rifles, 12 magazines with 360 rounds, two ballistic vests and two 2025‑model motorcycles.
  • Security forces detained four armed suspects in Culiacán, including two minors, in stolen vehicles—one outfitted with a tire‑spike launcher—and, in separate incidents, a police convoy was shot at near Bacurimí injuring two officers and two civilians while a later firefight in La Conquista left a state officer dead, one alleged attacker wounded and detained, and a suspected safe house secured with weapons and three vehicles.
