Sinaloa Details Security Plan for Culiacán Livestock Fair, Nov. 20–30

A unified command with round-the-clock screening will oversee crowd flow for rapid response.

Overview

  • State, federal and municipal agencies finalized a joint operation that brings together State Public Security, Sedena, the National Guard, the Navy, the federal SSPC, municipal police, Civil Protection and the UGRS.
  • The fair opens the afternoon of Nov. 20 and runs through Nov. 30, with logistics and security confirmed by Governor Rubén Rocha Moya.
  • Permanent 24-hour checkpoints will control access for ranchers, suppliers and exhibitors, with extended screening hours for the general public.
  • A C2-style command post will coordinate inner and outer security rings with real-time monitoring, rapid interventions and canine teams to detect weapons or drugs.
  • Sedena will vacate the UGRS grounds before opening to avoid disrupting preparations and will resume its temporary use after the event concludes.
