Simon Easterby Named Interim Head Coach for Ireland Rugby Team

Easterby steps in as Andy Farrell leads the British and Irish Lions tour of Australia next year.

Simon Easterby will take over as interim head coach of the Ireland rugby team starting December 1, 2024.
Andy Farrell, the current head coach, will temporarily depart to lead the British and Irish Lions tour of Australia in 2025.
Easterby, who has been part of the Ireland coaching team since 2014, will also manage the Emerging Ireland tour of South Africa next month.
The 49-year-old coach expressed his excitement and honor at being asked to lead the team during Farrell's absence.
Easterby will guide Ireland through the 2025 Six Nations and a summer tour, continuing his role in developing the next generation of Irish players.
