Silvestri Sweets Expands Recall of Choceur Holiday Bark Sold at Aldi Over Undeclared Allergens

A packaging mix-up that left allergens off labels prompted Silvestri Sweets to widen its Aldi recall.

Overview

  • The Dec. 22 update broadens a November recall to include additional lot numbers and best-by dates for 5-ounce pouches of Cookie Butter and Pecan, Cranberry & Cinnamon holiday bark.
  • The products were sold nationwide at Aldi, with Cookie Butter bags potentially containing undeclared pecans and the pecan variety potentially containing undeclared wheat.
  • Silvestri Sweets attributes the issue to a temporary breakdown in production and packaging that placed the two varieties in the wrong bags.
  • No illnesses have been reported to date, according to the FDA.
  • Consumers are urged to discard or return affected pouches for a refund and to check for best-by dates in May–June 2026 for Cookie Butter and August–September 2026 for the pecan variety.
