• On Hard difficulty, the correct Ema symbols are Lightning, Decayed Tree, and Kudzu, which must be entered in the order recorded in the in-game journal.
• The map directs players to three Ema board areas with only one valid plaque in each, and once the symbol is collected the area can no longer be used.
• A reliable search tactic is to spot the single plaque that looks different in a section, after which the remaining Ema in that area vanish to signal success.
• Guides note the lock requires aligning three dials and that one dial is missing, with locations provided for the symbol plaques and the extra dial in the Shrine Path.
• The Lost in Fog mode, unlocked after completing the game, retains the poem clue but expands the final step by presenting four symbol choices at each find.
