Overview

• The 59th Nathula Vijay Diwas was observed at Nathula Pass to commemorate India’s 1967 victory over Chinese forces.
• Sikkim Governor Om Prakash Mathur served as chief guest and unveiled a bust of Sagat Singh, praising the renaming to Nathula Vijay Diwas.
• Wreaths were laid and an eternal flame was lit at the Sherathang War Memorial with participation from the Indian Army’s 17 Mountain Division.
• Chief Minister Prem Singh Tamang paid tribute to the fallen and highlighted initiatives including the Vibrant Village Programme and Sikkim’s 20% police reservation for Agniveer soldiers.
• Dignitaries visited the Baba Harbhajan Singh Temple, and Sagat Singh’s son, Col (Retd) Ranvijay Singh, attended as a special guest.
