NS said the disruption would last at least until 12:15, and ProRail is investigating a signal and switch fault between Amsterdam Zuid and the airport.
Replacement buses are operating between Schiphol, Amsterdam Lelylaan and Amsterdam Sloterdijk to maintain connections.
Amsterdam remains reachable by rail, but no trains are running on the Schiphol–Amsterdam Zuid section, halting intercity through-running from Lelystad toward the airport and The Hague.
A regional update indicated broader Randstad routes from Flevoland face disruption into mid‑afternoon, with advised alternatives via Amsterdam Centraal, Duivendrecht with metro, or via Utrecht for The Hague.
