Signal Box Fire Near Magdeburg Shuts Line, Causes Million-Euro Damage

  • ICE and IC services between Berlin and Magdeburg are being diverted, with scheduled stops in Potsdam and Brandenburg canceled.
  • A fire watch remains on site through Wednesday, and forensic work is expected to start then with the Bundespolizei taking over the case.
  • Local authorities warned nearby residents to keep windows and doors closed because of heavy smoke, and seven fire vehicles with more than 30 personnel responded.
