• In mid-July interviews, Chaturvedi recounted learning the title Dhadak 2 from Ishaan Khatter at a Zoya Akhtar screening after he had already shot half the film
• He joked about an “inside joke” referencing Akshay Kumar from Ajnabee to suggest that Khatter might take on a role in the unannounced Gully Boy 2
• Dhadak 2, directed by Shazia Iqbal and starring Chaturvedi and Triptii Dimri, received U/A certification in late May and has released its poster, trailer and first single
• The upcoming film adapts the Tamil drama Pariyerum Perumal and acts as a spiritual sequel to 2018’s Dhadak, continuing its cross-caste romance theme
