- Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli were picked in the ODI squad for the three-match series, their first internationals since the Champions Trophy and their only active format.
- Chief selector Ajit Agarkar called replacing Rohit a tough call, cited the impracticality of three different captains, and declined to commit on Rohit and Kohli’s 2027 World Cup availability.
