Overview
- The ICC announced three nominees for July’s Men’s Player of the Month: India captain Shubman Gill, England skipper Ben Stokes and South Africa all-rounder Wiaan Mulder.
- Gill broke Sunil Gavaskar’s 1971 record by scoring 754 runs at an average of 75.40 in five Tests against England under his maiden captaincy.
- Mulder racked up 531 runs at an average of 265.50 in a two-Test series against Zimbabwe, including an unbeaten 367—South Africa’s highest individual Test score—and took seven wickets.
- Stokes delivered 251 runs at 50.20 and claimed 12 wickets at 26.33 in July, earning Player of the Match honours in successive Tests at Lord’s and Old Trafford.
- The winner will be decided through a combination of global fan voting and assessments by an independent ICC voting academy.
