Short-Term Curbs Hit Astrakhan, Volgograd and Kazan as Aeroflot Adds Krasnodar Flights

Regulators cite flight safety, with Krasnodar operating on a limited daytime schedule under capped movements.

Overview

  • Rosaviatsia introduced temporary restrictions at Astrakhan and Volgograd early Sept. 27 before lifting them later the same morning.
  • Two aircraft bound for Volgograd diverted to alternate airfields during the brief restriction period.
  • Separate temporary limits were imposed at Kazan on Sept. 27 for flight-safety reasons.
  • Aeroflot operated the first international flights from Krasnodar to Istanbul and Yerevan on Sept. 26 with nearly full loads, scheduling daily service using Airbus A320s.
  • From Sept. 27 Aeroflot resumes services to Krasnodar from Yekaterinburg, Krasnoyarsk and Ufa, as the airport runs 09:00–19:00 with up to five operations per hour and a maximum of 50 per day.
