Dallas built a 27-point lead in the fourth quarter before Boston's reserves cut the deficit to single digits in the final seconds, led by Payton Pritchard's 21 points.
Jaylen Brown led the Celtics with 25 points, but Boston's struggles at home continued, dropping their record at TD Garden to 16-10 this season.
