The announcement follows a landmark year for Ohtani, including his first World Series title with the Dodgers and a record-breaking 50-home run, 50-stolen base season.
Ohtani, 30, married Tanaka, a former professional basketball player from Japan, earlier this year in a private ceremony revealed to fans in February.
The couple has kept their relationship largely private but made public appearances at Dodgers events and games throughout the year.
