Players can encounter Shiny Rayquaza in 5-Star Tera Raids with a Dragon Tera type, but it can only be caught once per save file.
The event is tied to an animated trailer featuring Rayquaza flying over the Paldea region, highlighting its special design.
Mass Outbreaks featuring other black Shiny Pokémon like Fraxure and Carbink will occur alongside the Rayquaza event.
Preparation for the event includes a series of Tera Raid battles featuring Pokémon like Corviknight and Azumarill to aid players.
