Shimla-Kalka Toy Train to Terminate at Tara Devi for 14 Days During Bridge Overhaul

Overview

  • Bridge Number 800, swept away by a landslide near Summer HillJutogh in August 2023, is now being permanently replaced under a 14-day renovation plan.
  • Between May 30 and June 12, all Shimla-Kalka toy train services will originate and terminate at Tara Devi station, roughly 7 km from Shimla.
  • Four train services—two in each direction—are scheduled daily from Tara Devi to maintain the rail timetable during the bridge works.
  • Indian Railways has teamed up with Himachal Road Transport Corporation to deploy shuttle buses at Rs 22 per trip to ferry passengers between Tara Devi and Shimla.
