- Switzerland’s Camille Rast led the Semmering slalom after the first run, with Albania’s Lara Colturi 0.09 seconds back and Austria’s Katharina Liensberger third.
- Mikaela Shiffrin sat fourth at 0.54 seconds off the lead after giving up time low on the course, putting her five-race slalom win streak in jeopardy ahead of the second run.
- Julia Scheib won Saturday’s giant slalom in Semmering and moved 88 points clear in the GS standings, as Shiffrin placed sixth and discipline leader Alice Robinson skied out.
- U.S. teammates Nina O’Brien and Paula Moltzan crashed in the GS but appeared to avoid serious injury, and Moltzan was 1.41 seconds off the slalom lead after run one.
