Shelf A6036 Crash: Air Ambulance Deployed, Two Taken to Hospital as Road Reopens

Emergency crews report one patient was airlifted to Leeds General Infirmary after a collision between a car and a motorbike near Shelf Hall Lane.

Overview

  • Yorkshire Ambulance Service received a 2:43pm call to a collision on Wade House Road in Shelf near the junction with Shelf Hall Lane.
  • Two ambulances, a specialist critical-care paramedic, a team leader and an air ambulance were dispatched to the scene.
  • West Yorkshire Police were called just before 3pm and said the motorbike rider was taken to hospital with serious injuries.
  • YAS said two people were conveyed to hospital, one flown to Leeds General Infirmary and one taken by road to Bradford Royal Infirmary.
  • The A6036 was closed in both directions for several hours with a cordon and heavy police presence before reopening at around 9:15pm.
