Sheinbaum Opens 26-Km TepicCompostela Highway in Nayarit

Backed by 4.212 billion pesos from FONADIN and delivered by Banobras under the CMRO model, the route starts toll-free and is designed to cut trips by about 35 minutes.

Overview

  • The highway includes 10 bridges, a tunnel, two interchanges, multiple underpasses and overpasses, and a toll plaza.
  • It is expected to carry about 6,400 vehicles per day and reduce the TepicCompostela trip by roughly 35 minutes.
  • The road will operate without tolls until January 8, 2026.
  • The link complements SICT’s corridor with prior sections Jala–Compostela and Ramal a Compostela (2018) and CompostelaLas Varas (2024), improving connectivity with Jalisco.
  • Sheinbaum announced plans to extend the corridor toward Las Varas–Platanitos and San Blas.
