Overview
- The President inaugurated the Sendero Seguro and Park Lineal on Avenida Ignacio Pichardo Pagaza on Saturday with Governor Delfina Gómez and Ecatepec Mayor Azucena Cisneros in attendance.
- Officials reported the corridor is 1.6 kilometres long and includes 1,220 new lamps, about 6,270 ornamental plants, 455 trees and more than 1,300 square metres of murals, plus full repaving paid with 13 million pesos of municipal funds.
- The project combined roles across levels of government: Sedatu built the linear park, the SICT installed the corridor infrastructure and the municipal government handled repaving and local equipment purchases.
- Authorities announced next steps that include repairing potable water and drainage networks in Ecatepec next year, confirming 56 wells are now operating, delivering repaving equipment to the 10 Zone Oriente municipalities and scheduling supervisory visits in January 2027.
- Officials say the work benefits more than 15,000 residents in 11 neighbourhoods and forms part of a broader Plan Integral de la Zona Oriente that seeks to recover public spaces and upgrade mobility and services across 10 eastern State of Mexico municipalities.
