Sheinbaum Launches ‘México Imparable’ Half-Marathon Circuit Across Four States

The initiative channels sports tourism into a culturally themed series that pledges backing for indigenous athletes.

Overview

  • Four 21 km races are scheduled for Palenque on Sep. 14, 2025; Mexico City on Dec. 7, 2025; Oaxaca on Mar. 22, 2026; and Chihuahua/Creel on Jun. 7, 2026.
  • Each event highlights a local culture and elemental theme: water/Maya (Palenque), fire/Mexica (CDMX), earth/Mixteca or Zapoteca traditions (Oaxaca), and air/Rarámuri (Chihuahua).
  • Registration is open at mexicoimparable.com, which previews the themed participant Kit-Raíces and offers race options including 21K, 10K and 5K for the Palenque date.
  • Project lead Mirna Beatriz De la Cruz outlined economic and logistical support for indigenous and low-income competitors, with Rarámuri ultramarathoner Lorena Ramírez serving as ambassador.
  • Officials said sports tourism brings an estimated 60.4 billion pesos annually, and related programming includes the Juegos Autóctonos Indígenas in Morelos from Oct. 16–24, 2025.
