Sheinbaum and Gómez Open Rebuilt UMF No. 93 Clinic in Ecatepec

Overview

  • The new UMF No. 93 clinic offers 51 consultorios—including specialty and trauma/orthopedics units—extended hours, X-ray, ultrasound, ECG, laboratory and pharmacy services.
  • IMSS reports the clinic has delivered over 40,000 consultations since mid-July and is designed to serve 352,000 derechohabientes in eastern State of Mexico.
  • Rebuilt after its 2017 earthquake demolition and delayed by the COVID-19 emergency, the facility’s construction cost totaled 435 million pesos.
  • The inauguration ceremony included the formal handover of the Hospital Oncológico de Ecatepec to IMSS as the first of 28 actions under the regional Plan Oriente.
  • The State of Mexico has allocated 12.4 billion pesos to build four regional hospitals in Ecatepec, Nezahualcóyotl, Chimalhuacán and Chicoloapan to expand and modernize care.
