Sheikh Zayed Grand Mosque Introduces Modest Visitor Fees

The mosque’s managing centre says the charges will formalise paid cultural experiences and support visitor services.

Overview

  • The Sheikh Zayed Grand Mosque Centre announced the new entry and exhibit fees on Thursday, setting Dh5 for UAE Emirates ID holders, Dh10 for tourists and Dh8 for visitors who enter via tour operators.
  • The centre listed Dh25 for each of the Light & Peace Museum and the Diya immersive 360-degree experience and a combined ticket for both at Dh40, while a guided tour of the main prayer hall is offered for Dh30.
  • Certain groups are exempt from fees with free access for worshippers, people over 60, children under three and people of determination, and official cultural guided tours remain free on scheduled daily times.
  • Practical changes include fixed visiting hours, a permanent end to abaya lending with abayas available to buy at Souq Al Jami for Dh45, and ticket purchases via the mosque website or onsite counters.
  • The move follows heavy tourist use — the centre reported 3,127,607 guests in the first half of 2026 with 78% from outside the UAE — and could help manage high visitor numbers and fund curated cultural programming.
