Overview
- Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif left for Kuala Lumpur on October 5 for an official visit at the invitation of Malaysian Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim.
- He is accompanied by a high-level delegation that includes Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar, Information Minister Attaullah Tarar, and Special Assistant Tariq Fatemi.
- The two leaders will hold bilateral talks covering cooperation priorities as well as regional and global developments.
- They are expected to witness the signing of agreements and MoUs to boost collaboration in trade, IT and telecom, the halal industry, investment, education, energy, infrastructure, and the digital economy.
- Before departing, Shehbaz met Nawaz Sharif to discuss easing tensions with coalition partner PPP and to brief him on recent foreign engagements and Azad Kashmir talks, while Nawaz deferred a separate invitation to visit Malaysia.
