The new feature works for music playing around the user or within apps like Instagram, TikTok, and YouTube.
Users can check for the headphone icon within the app to confirm their headphones are connected before starting to recognize music.
The Shazam app can be used on any device, and the Music Recognition button in the Control Center can also be used with headphones on iPhone and iPad.
Shazam, acquired by Apple in 2017, has more than 300 million monthly users globally.
