Shaun Murphy made the first 147 break in Snooker Shoot-Out history, beating Hungarian teenager Bulcsu Revesz.
Hong Kong teenager Shaun Liu Yu-sang became the youngest winner of a televised ranking event match after triumphing in the first round of the Shoot Out.
The Shoot Out competition involves matches being played for a maximum of 10 minutes, with players having 15 seconds a shot in the first five minutes and 10 seconds in the final five minutes.
Murphy's maximum break will earn him £5,000 unless it is equalled.
Liu, who received a wild card for the four-day World Snooker Tour event in Swansea, beat Ishpreet Singh Chadha to write his name into the history books.
