Shark Attack Injures Swimmer, Closes Del Mar Beaches

A 46-year-old man sustained significant injuries during a group swim off the Southern California coast, prompting beach closures.

The attack occurred about 100 yards from shore at Del Mar City Beach around 9 a.m. Sunday.
The swimmer, who was with a group of a dozen, suffered bites to his torso, left arm, and hand.
The victim was hospitalized with serious but non-life-threatening injuries.
