Sharjah Opens Mleiha Dairy, World’s Largest A2A2 Cattle Farm

The project anchors Sharjah’s drive for local, health‑focused food security.

Overview

  • Sheikh Dr Sultan bin Muhammad Al Qasimi inaugurated the Mleiha Dairy Farm and Factory, calling it the fulfillment of a 65‑year vision and stressing a health‑over‑profit mandate.
  • Guinness World Records certified the site as the largest A2A2 cattle farm, with the certificate presented during the launch ceremony in Mleiha.
  • Officials commissioned operations with an 80‑platform milking parlour capable of 500 cows per hour, packaging lines up to 4,500 units per hour, and silage facilities producing 50 tonnes of organic feed per hour.
  • The 20,000‑square‑metre facility houses about 6,400 cows producing A2A2 milk, which is widely viewed as easier to digest than standard milk; launch briefings cited output of about 100,000 litres per day.
  • The dairy forms part of Sharjah’s broader food‑security programme that has turned Mleiha desert land productive since 2022 and is paired with crop, poultry and university training initiatives.
