Shane Bieber, 29, has signed a one-year, $14 million contract with the Cleveland Guardians, including a $16 million player option for 2026.
Bieber, a two-time All-Star and 2020 AL Cy Young winner, chose Cleveland over other offers due to trust in the organization and strong personal connections.
The pitcher underwent Tommy John surgery in April 2024 after making just two starts last season, where he threw 12 scoreless innings with 20 strikeouts.
Bieber is currently throwing three times a week at 90 feet as part of his rehabilitation and is expected to rejoin Cleveland's rotation during the 2025 season.
