Overview
- The National Centre for Seismology logged a magnitude 5.8 event at 16:41 IST with a depth of 5 km near Udalguri, while other agencies reported 5.5–5.9.
- Tremors were widely felt across Assam including Guwahati and districts such as Sonitpur and Nalbari, reaching parts of Manipur, Arunachal Pradesh (Itanagar), North Bengal and Bhutan.
- Within about 90 minutes, NCS recorded aftershocks of M3.1 and M2.7 in Udalguri and M2.9 in Sonitpur.
