Shai Gilgeous-Alexander, Jalen Brunson Named December Kia Players of the Month

• NBA Communications announced on Jan. 2 that Shai Gilgeous-Alexander (West) and Jalen Brunson (East) earned the December honors.
• Brunson averaged 30.6 points, 7.1 assists and 3.2 rebounds on .475/.405/.826 shooting as New York went 10-3 in his 13 December games.
• Gilgeous-Alexander averaged 31.4 points, 6.1 assists, 4.6 rebounds and 1.7 steals on .594/.436/.882 shooting, with Oklahoma City going 9-4 in December and leading the NBA at 29-5.
• It is Brunson’s third career Player of the Month award and Gilgeous-Alexander’s fifth.
• Earlier this week’s All-Star update listed Brunson third in Eastern Conference voting with more than one million votes.
