Shah Pledges Central Support for Maharashtra's Flood-Hit Farmers, Requests Damage Report

Overview

  • On a visit to Ahilyanagar and Shirdi, Amit Shah inaugurated an expanded cooperative sugar factory and said assistance will follow once the state files a detailed assessment.
  • Officials reported crop damage across more than 60 lakh hectares after recent heavy rains and flooding.
  • The Centre has released Rs 3,132 crore for 2025–26, including Rs 1,631 crore in April, while the state has disbursed Rs 2,215 crore in relief.

  • Shah praised state leaders for their response, said all NDA MLAs donated one month’s salary, as Sharad Pawar urged a quick submission of the loss report and Sanjay Raut alleged pre-visit arrests.
