Overview
- SFMOMA set the exhibition for October 2026 through February 2027, presenting roughly 200 works drawn from RM’s collection and the museum’s holdings.
- RM will co-curate with SFMOMA curators América Castillo and Hyoeun Kim in his first public presentation as a collector at a major U.S. museum.
- Works cited by the museum include Korean figures such as Yun Hyong-keun, Park Rehyun and Kwon Okyon alongside Kim Whanki, Mark Rothko, Henri Matisse and Georgia O’Keeffe from SFMOMA’s collection.
- RM called the project a bridge across boundaries between cultures and eras, and SFMOMA’s chief curator said it invites fresh discoveries through dialogue between the two collections.
- BigHit Music confirmed the collaboration, describing it as a chance for fans to glimpse RM’s aesthetic eye, following BTS’s group reunion and plans for a 2026 world tour.
