Overview
- The exhibition is scheduled for October 2026 through February 2027 and will feature roughly 200 works drawn from RM’s holdings and SFMOMA’s collection.
- RM will co-curate the show with SFMOMA curatorial project manager América Castillo and assistant curator Hyoeun Kim.
- RM’s pieces by modern and contemporary Korean artists will be shown in dialogue with SFMOMA works by Mark Rothko, Agnes Martin, Henri Matisse, Georgia O’Keeffe and Paul Klee, as well as Kim Whanki.
- BigHit Music confirmed the plan, describing it as a chance to see RM’s aesthetic as a collector, and RM said he hopes the show builds a bridge across cultural and temporal boundaries.
- SFMOMA initiated the collaboration and notes it as a first with a K-pop artist, with ticketing details and a full object list to be announced later.
