• SFI members confronted MLA and Executive Council member Harish Janartha outside the HPU library after gathering to submit a memorandum on campus grievances.
• Police said they escorted Janartha out through the main gate and reported no serious injuries after students blocked his vehicle during the protest.
• Protesters alleged Quick Response Team personnel pushed female students during the scuffle and said several participants suffered minor injuries.
• Students demanded immediate restoration of Students’ Central Association elections suspended since 2013, along with more hostel capacity, non-teaching recruitment, additional campus buses and NEP 2020 implementation.
• HPU teachers held a 24-hour hunger strike, waved black flags and delivered their charter to EC members, pressing for restoration of the Career Advancement Scheme and warning of intensified action.
