Severe Winter Storm Warnings Issued for Colorado's Mountain Regions

Heavy snowfall and high winds are expected to create hazardous travel conditions in southwest Colorado this weekend.

The National Weather Service has downgraded snowfall forecasts, but up to three feet of snow is still possible in some areas.
Winter storm warnings are in effect for the San Juan Mountains, including Telluride, Ouray, and Silverton, where travel could become impossible.
High winds up to 45 mph are expected to accompany the snowfall, increasing the danger in affected regions.
Winter weather advisories are also in place for several other mountain areas, signaling potentially dangerous conditions.
In contrast, the Denver area is forecasted to experience rain and cooler temperatures, with possible thunderstorms on Friday night.
