- IMD warns of very rough to high seas and gale‑force winds over the northwest and adjoining northeast/central Arabian Sea, advising fishermen to avoid these waters and the Gujarat–north Maharashtra coasts through Tuesday.
- Maharashtra districts including Mumbai, Thane, Palghar, Raigad, Ratnagiri and Sindhudurg are under alerts for strong winds and possible heavy rain through October 7, though some local forecasters say heavy rain over Mumbai is unlikely.
- The system is the season’s first Arabian Sea cyclone and carries the WMO/ESCAP name Shakti contributed by Sri Lanka, with regional agencies in the Gulf monitoring conditions and no impact expected in the UAE.
