Severe Accident on A2: Car Crashes into Construction Vehicle, Two Injured

A car collided with a parked construction machine on the A2 near Bottrop, causing serious injuries to both occupants.

The accident occurred on Sunday morning around 10:30 AM on the A2 highway in the direction of Oberhausen.
The car crashed into a stationary construction vehicle within a closed-off construction site, causing the machine to topple onto the road.
Both occupants of the car were trapped and required extrication by the fire department using hydraulic rescue tools.
One of the injured was taken to a specialized trauma clinic due to the severity of their injuries, while the other was hospitalized locally.
The A2 was completely closed between Bottrop and Oberhausen for several hours to facilitate rescue and cleanup operations.
